Family-owned workshop in Masterton, honest advice, quality repairs, and fair prices for every vehicle that comes through our door.

My Vehicle Maintenance is a family-owned workshop on High Street in Solway, Masterton, run by husband and wife team Ari and Rachel Te Tau. Ari is a fully qualified mechanic with over 20 years in the industry and holds WOF certification with the NZ Transport Agency. Whether it's a routine service, a tricky engine fault, or a full brake overhaul, our workshop has the experience and equipment to take care of it.
Rachel keeps things running behind the scenes, looking after the accounts and the wider business so the team out front can focus on customers. We work on all makes and models, Japanese, European, 4WD, hybrid, and electric, and we'll always give you a clear explanation and an upfront quote before we start any work. No surprises, no upsells, just good honest mechanical work.
We'll tell you what your vehicle actually needs — not what makes us the most money. If something can wait, we'll say so.
You get a written quote before we start. No hidden fees, no bill shock when you pick up your keys.
We use trusted brands that meet or exceed manufacturer specs, fitted by a qualified mechanic who takes pride in the work.
We're not a franchise or a chain. Ari and Rachel run this workshop themselves — your vehicle gets personal attention, not a number in a queue.
Based in Masterton, we service vehicles from across the region. Same quality work, same fair pricing — no matter which town you're driving in from.
Our workshop is right here on High Street in Solway — just a few minutes from the Masterton town centre. We're the local choice for WOF inspections, logbook servicing, brake repairs, engine work, and everything in between. Drop in or book online.
Just 15 minutes up the road from Carterton, we're an easy drive for vehicle servicing, repairs, and WOF inspections. Plenty of Carterton drivers already trust us with their vehicles — and we'd be happy to look after yours too.
Greytown locals don't need to head to the Hutt or Wellington for reliable mechanical work. We're a short drive north on SH2, with the same honest service and quality repairs your vehicle deserves.
Heading over the Remutaka Range for a mechanic? Save yourself the trip. Our Masterton workshop handles everything from routine servicing to complex repairs — and we'll treat your vehicle like it's our own.
A WOF inspection at our workshop is $80, or $50 for a trailer. If your vehicle needs repairs to pass, we'll give you a separate quote for that work before we start, no surprises.
Not at all. Under New Zealand consumer law, you can have your vehicle serviced at any qualified workshop without affecting your manufacturer warranty — as long as the service is done to the manufacturer's schedule using approved parts and fluids. We do exactly that.
Most manufacturers recommend every 10,000–15,000 kilometres or every 6–12 months, whichever comes first. We can check your logbook and let you know exactly what's due.
Yes — Japanese, European, Australian, Korean, and domestic. We work on petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles. If it's got wheels and an engine (or a motor), we can help.
Absolutely. It's actually a smart way to do it — we can combine the WOF inspection with your scheduled service so you only need to drop the car off once.
Yes. If your vehicle can't make it to our workshop, we can come to you across the wider Wairarapa — Masterton, Carterton, Greytown, Featherston, and Martinborough. We bring diagnostic tools and common parts to handle on-site repairs.
We're open Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. We're closed Friday through Sunday. You can book online anytime and we'll confirm your appointment.
